    Possible virus on phone?

I'm thinking i may have a virus or something on my s4. I downloaded this live wallpaper app and it decided to download more apps and spam me with ads constantly. I deleted the app, but ever since then my phone seems to be acting laggy and on numerous occasions after pressing the home button it will go to a blank screen with only the app button in the middle. Is there a way to do a hard reset and backup my info? Or something that can scan to get my phone running normal again? Thanks.

Bare minimum shut the phone off and pull the battery for 1 minute, then reboot. See what happens.

you should install something like avg to run a scan and install something like clean master to clean your phone.

I decided to delete all the background apps i purchased since that seemed to be where the problem was coming from. I then installed Avast and ran that. Phone seems to be back to normal. Thanks.

I don't think he had an actual virus infection, but you did probably download adware. You say it downloaded other apps, unless you can find them I think it was the one wallpaper app that you downloaded that's causing the ads to pop up. Install AirPush Ad Detector from the Google Store. If there's something else pushing those ads that will find it. Did you previously have any antivirus installed?

Check out these links if you didn't

And there are more where these came from.

I'm not saying you didn't get some kind of infection, just wondering if it was a real one or not. Adware is not considered a virus just a nuisance.
