    SD card damaged

My phone has come up saying SD card damaged, try reformatting.
This happened about a week ago so I reformatted it and lost everything.

It now wants me to do it again :/
It's taken me hours and hours to get films on it. Can anyone tell me why this happens and any help?

    Thanks

Is it possible that the SD card has failed? They do that sometimes.

Also, make sure that the contacts on the card are clean.

I had something similar happen. I transferred almost 64GBs of movies and songs, and spent a bunch of time organizing them. I took the card out to show a friend how small 64GBs was these days, and when I put it back in it said the card was damaged and suggested I reformat it. I simply took it out and put it back in a couple of times and it finally worked. I don't know if that helps at all, but there you go.

Sure, that's a good idea. This happened the same day I took the card out of the package, and about a week after I got the phone, so everything was clean. Also, this weekend I restarted my phone and when it booted up it says the SD card is damaged. Took off the back, popped it in and out and viola it works again. I didn't even really remove the card, just clicked it out and back in. Originally I thought it may be either something wrong with my card or my phone, but if someone else is experiencing the same thing it could be software related or a known issue with certain cards, etc.

I havr had the exact same issues. Everyone said the same thing that it was the card and couldnt possibly be the phone. So I got a Samsung 32GB Class 10 card and was working fine and then got the message that the card had been unexpectedly removed. Went to remount the card and the option wasnt there. Just said insert card. Took card out and connected to my PC to reformat/repair and windowd was unable to format it and said an I/O error had occured. Other disk utility programs cannot detect the card either. So my S4 has completelu destroyed a genuine Samsung 32GB card and just today the other generic 64GB card has suffered the same fate. Completely dead and unreadable by any device.

    Thankyou Samsung!!!!

No offense intended, but I highly doubt that it's the phone doing this.
