    Swype Keyboard

Swype keyboard in S4 is horrible. 80% of the words typed are incorrect. Had a Note 2 where the Swype was far superior. Even now when i compare in the same manner, the s4 makes too many mistakes. Is it a bug and how to clear it pls ?

I use SwiftKey and even with the flow is far superior than any stock keyboard I have used on a Samsung device.

You can try the Google keyboard available in the play store. It has swipe functionality if that's your bag. Personally I prefer to rapidly peck and let SwiftKey correct for me.

I use SwiftKey and it seems the best since you can set it up to "learn" from your emails, FB, and texts if you wanted it to.

Are you using the pre-installed version of Swype on the S4 (not sure if it comes already installed) or the Swype app from the Play Store - I use the app and have found it too work quite nicely...

    And welcome to the forum!

did you personalize swype? if you go into settings, my device tab, language and input, touch the gear next to swype, and click personalization, you can edit the dictionary and have it learn from fb, twitter, and gmail. i used the free google keyboard but after hearing a lot of good things about swiftkey i switched over.

edit: you may also want to check "living language" under language option.

WOW I'm having exactly the opposite experience. I find swype is close to 100% perfect. Much better than my poke at the letter typing. Wonder why the difference. I'm using what ever keyboard came with the S4. Wish my iPad had Swype.

I went from the Galaxy Note 1 which had Swype to the S4 which seems to have Samsung's version of it. It certainly doesn't come up with "Swype" in the keyboard options, so I'm assuming it's a Samsung version rather than the original. Swype is available in appstore for 65p which is quite reasonable.

I don't see any keyboard options but keyboard works both ways, swype or poke and hope.
