    [Solved] wi-fi not connected

    hi samsung team.

this week i brought my new samsung galaxy s4 phone from singapore and now i am in china.

the problem what is occuring with this phone is that when i am at the home the wifi is very easily accessible for it, there is no problem for it.

but when i am at the office, and when i connects to the wifi, it doesnt happens the same, when i enter the password then it says ok "saved and secured" and then it says "obtaining ip address" but after that it takes a long time and then it says that it failed to obtain the ip address and it doesnt connects and then suddenly there comes a pop up message which says that network disabled because internet connection is slow but it is actually not. in the other phones i am very easily able to access it and that at a very good speed.

the wifi speed is actually 72 mbps which is regarded as a good one. so why this problem is coming with only samsung galaxy S4 only.

please give me a valid reason for it.

i paid a good amount for this phone but if i have to get this out of it then whats the use of buying s4.

please reply urgently for it @ paramfj@gmail.com.

    thanks

    param.

    Welcome to the forum

A valid reason may not be an option without knowing much more about how the office router is configured. First you should tap that connection and tell it to forget and try again. If it still doesn't work ask the IT person what you need to use for fixed IP in your S4. You can go to that connection and long press it then to settings - advanced and enter fixed IP and DNS information.

Try that and report back the results.

    hi

firstly thanks for the advice, its connected now but it is not yet solved.

i changed the ip address of it and it says connected but but but

i am not able to open any things on the browser, means when i try to open any website on s4 it takes a while and says unable to access the network and also there is no internet support on it for the other apps also, so in short it is the same thing as before just the difference is that they are showing for formality that it is connected.

i have restarted it already several time but nothing is coming out of it so please advise what shall i do next?

    thanks.

    waiting for ur reply.

In the DNS section of the advanced settings try the following
    8.8.8.8
    8.8.4.4

    no not happening.
    the same issue as before.
it is connected but no internet still. on my other device it is working fine. so it means that there is nothing wrong in the internet, it is wrong in the samsung s4.

The only way to know for certain is to try a public WiFi hotspot. If it connects there then you may need to take another look at the router. Many people assume that if 8 devices work OK the 9th will too. That isn't necessarily true.

If it won't connect at a hotspot then you may want to look at an exchange.

At least we've narrowed it down and I suspect you looked at my WiFi help link, below so I would look at 2 things. The first would be to check for a firmware update. If you can't find one try a factory reset of the router.

Ask your IT department. There are many ways to setup a WiFi network. You need to know what they know.
