    Galaxy S 4 i9505 in call sound problem

    Hi guys i need your help because i'm a super noob,
    I'm new to the samsung/android world. I've been an apple fan boy and decided to switch.
    I bought a samsung galxy s4 i9505 it was on 3 UK. The phone works fine but after a few calls, I can't hear the other person and they can't hear me. When I restart the phone it works fine again and then after a while it does it again. I updated the phone and also restored it to factory settings. Do you have any idea what could be causing the problem? I will be forever grateful if you guys can help me!

    That's pretty strange. Can you increase the volume during the call using the volume rocker button?

    The volume rocker moves but there is no sound.
    Tried a full whipe with CWM but still the same. When the phone turns on I make a call and can hear everything, and if i lock the phone straight away. there is no sound in the next call i make

    Off the top of my head I can't think of anything that would cause that short of a hardware problem. Can you take it back to where you purchased it for an exchange? If you could show that to someone at the carrier's store it shouldn't be a problem

    The problem is that i'm in Cyprus and the phone is from the UK. The service in Cyprus is rubbish. I'm thinking about sending it to the UK for repair. The thing is if it was a hardware issue what could it be?

    I have no idea what could cause it but if you plan on sending it in for repair you need to return it to stock if possible, which might solve the problem if it isn't hardware. If it is hardware there may not be a reasonable explanation. When I have a customer ask why their hard disk in the computer died all I can say is that they do fail, sometimes there isn't a logical reason.

    it def sounds like a hardware problem and i'm not sure what specific component to replace either, but a store in cyprus can probably tell you and if its an easy fix, ordering the part might be more convenient. the only software setting that could do this is turning off all sound in accessibility, but its default is set to off and a factory reset should have reset it.
    stock at&t s4.

    dumbest fix ever, but its been ok since Friday. Went to mobile networks, and changed network mode to WCDMA only. and Its been fine since. Thank you for your replies!!

    Question Network issues making and taking calls in Cyprus

    Well I'm glad you got a result and that it was the network in Cyprus and not your phone although the symptoms certainly did not match the solution.

    As a matter of interest, are you roaming on a UK SIM? If so, what is your home network and what network are you roaming on in Cyprus?

    We're thinking of going to Cyprus for a holiday later in the year. I haven't been since about 1987 and my wife hasn't been at all.

    Question Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 in-call sound problem

    I have had a similar problem for the past few days. When making and taking calls there is no audio from the earpiece, speaker or microphone.

    This may be coincidental but I did install “InCall Recorder” around the time that I first noticed the problem although I have since de-installed it as a precaution. I suppose that it could have interfered with the audio interface to the phone as all other audio features appear to be working, it's just the phone that has a problem.

    I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 running Android 4.2.2.
