    Thank you Miller,
I've tried that, but it didn't get better. Could it be a result of my phone being upgraded to a new android version (4.2.2) last week?
    Didn't have this problem before.....

Seems odd. You could try booting into recovery and clear cache but if it goes away when you press on the back that sounds more like a hardware issue. Try turning your earpiece volume down a touch maybe it is rezignating through the phone somehow.....

did you check to make sure your sim card is properly inserted?

edit: maybe try pulling the battery too. if the phone is working when you press the back, something back there is probably loose and you need to re-seat it.

That behavior is not typical of the phone. I've had 4.2.2 from the beginning.

Does this happen is all locations?

I get an echo every once in a while. I usually either call the person back or they call me back. I don't know if it's the phone but I think it's the connection.

When I remove the cover everything is ok, and the trouble starts when I put it back again.

the trouble starts when you put the plastic back cover on? do you use a case? is 'noise reduction' (found in settings>my device> call) checked or unchecked? maybe check it if its unchecked and uncheck it if its checked. does the person hear the echo when you're on speaker phone? what about w your headphones plugged in?
