How do I get downloaded music onto my SD card instead of my device?

I have downloaded some music to my new S4 and am having difficulty figuring a way to move or download the music to save to my SD card? I know apps can't be moved or saved to SD card. But I've always read we can download & save media to the external SD card. I always thought media was: Photos, videos, and music. Am I wrong in thinking music is part of media? Also, when I download pics from texts & emails that my sister sends, II can't save those to SD card either? Help? Much thanks in advance for your advice & suggestions

Welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to join us. I've always just transfered them with USB. Set up a folder on your sdcard titled Music and transfer to it. You will need to make sure you have the S4 USB drivers installed on your PC.

The easiest way is to get DoubleTwist and AirSync. DoubleTwist is free and AirSync costs a couple bucks. Download them both on your computer and your S4. On the S4, open AirSync and go to settings. There is a place there to designate the microcard as the destination for your music. After you import your music from iTunes into DoubleTwist on your computer, you can sync your computer to your S4.

Oh and AirSync is a wireless connection through your home network to your S4. :-)

click apps on the home screen> my files in the apps tab> Music>select all by pressing the menu soft key>touch the top right 3 horizontal lines, click move>sd card> music folder then click move here (top right corner)

to save pictures to your sd card you can take a screen shot of the image, then go my files, all files, device storage, pictures, screenshots, check the ones you want to move click the three horizontal bars (top right again)

I have previously followed the steps outlined by Macuser but after it processed 2 GB of files it stopped and it wont move anymore. The card is a 32GB card and I have plenty of space left.

It doesn't work if I try to move them on my pc either.

When connected to the pc, are you in ptp or mtp mode? Also, if you haven't already done so, I would format the sd from the s4.

Go to "My Files" and select "Settings". You can change the default folder for music from the phone to the external card.

You can do that same with images, videos and documents too.

    Thanks, found it.
Follow-up question. I want "All Files" on the SD card as they are added to the device (i.e. photos, music, video & Documents). My Files > All Files > SDMemory Card > Then I Get 2 Options: Android & LOST.DIR
Should I select the check box for both of these or just one?
After Selecting do I need to then Select "Move"?
There are subfolders in the Android folder; I assume that if I select Android the subfolders will take care of themselves?
Will this then install all these file types on the SD card in the future & allow their access by phone Apps?
