    Browser Screen Freeze Problem

After working fine for months, my GS4 has suddenly developed a very irritating problem where the browser screen will freeze while/after loading a page, making it impossible to scroll down. The problem initially arose in pages I'd jump to from Twitter, and it's limited to certain websites, e.g., NatGeo is one example.

When you first jump to the site, you can scroll down to the end of the page if you move quick, but the page will very quickly freeze up and lock you in position with no ability to scroll up or down.

I haven't had any luck searching online, so any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried a different browser?

Thank you. Clearing the defaults and switching to Chrome appears to have fixed the problem.

Good deal! I'm modifying your title and marking it solved.

Current versions of Android don't support Flash player, try Puffin or Flashfox as an alternative browser.

Whoah, not so fast there, hot foot. I, too am encountering this frustrating issue which probably would've continued out of sheer laziness & lack of concern had not a time-sensitive event of GREAT IMPORTANCE to women across the nation necessitated a snappy responsive browser: August Allure. You needn't a full appreciation of August Allure to understand the vital need to interface with millisecond precision, which, unfortunately, is still not happening with the S4. I've encountered this issue exactly as described by the OP with the S4 stock browser, Chrome browser as well as both Dolphin & Dolphin Mini & even Opera for Android (earlier version).

Possible differing variables might result by me updating the OS over the air to 4.3, but NOT letting it update to 4.4 or Kit Kat or whatever, sooooo, maybe 4.3 has something to do with it. I've been too scared to go 4.4, but maybe that might resolve the issue?
Should I take the chance or what other suggestions might you have?

    HELP!

    Thank you!

I would go for the update. Some of the things in the update are tweaks and fixes not always documented. I usually wait to see what other people say about the updates, at least a few days then I do a cache clean, a restart and go for it. So far, none of my browsers, (I use several regularly) are having the freeze issue. I'm on 4.4.2 on AT&T
    SGS3 SGH-i747 / SGS4 (32GB) SGH-i337 on AT&T - and LG Optimus G Pro
