    Need help with MMS

New to Android, coming from years of iPhones. People have sent me texts with photos. Able to read the texts but unable to download the photos. I got GO SMS Pro from the Play Store but even that doesn't work. Auto retrieve of MMS is checked in settings.

Galaxy S4 16gb, with AT&T. Can somebody help, please?

Strange. Do people receive your pictures when you send one.

Been looking everywhere for answers and hoping all you smart people can help me.

Am unable to receive any incoming photos. Text comes through, photos can't be downloaded.. I have auto-retrieve enabled. I even got GO SMS Pro and it doesn't work on that either.

And worse is If I take a pic and try to send it via messaging, I get the following popup:

"No network connection. Mobile data is disabled. This message will be sent when mobile data is enabled."

I have to enable 4G in my house that has wifi in order to text a picture???????? I have a limited data plan. That is so not going to happen. (Sorry, upset at the moment).

i hope I am just missing something and there is a fix for this. Messaging with pictures is a big part of what I do with a smartphone.

    Help please!

Mms has to use your mobile data connection, it won't use wifi, but it should automatically enable it when sending the Mms message, even if on wifi.

You need to have data enabled. Even if data is enabled and you are connected to wifi, it will only use the network for MMS and SMS. All other data such as streaming and browsing will go through wifi. There is no harm in leaving data enabled when you are connected to wifi. Your other option is to use one of the many messaging apps in the market, but the person you're MMSing will need to have the app installed also. Apps such as Kik Messenger use your data, or wifi if you are connected. Also, MMS and SMS don't burn data, they come off your texting plan. An MMS will not use your alloted data, AFAIK. Hope this helps.

It helped a lot because it verifies what I was told at the AT&T store this morning. Thanks all for your responses.
