    Back/Menu buttons do not Work

Ok guys i have a Galaxy S4 through AT&T, and the screen was cracked. I attempted to replace just the glass and the frame around the glass and destroyed the lcd in the process. So i bought the complete front, the glass and the case already put together. Well I put it together today and i have 2 problems, the main problem, the back/menu buttons do not work. They are unresponsive and dont even light up. Second, the speaker doesnt work either. Just curious if anyone has any ideas as to why neither work. Possible defective part causing the buttons not to work? Bad speaker? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Take it apart, redo all connections, and reassemble.
(bumping isn't really necessary - Christmas and Holiday activities mean lower attendance )

Did you purchase the parts new, or used off EBay, other source?
I agree with Danvee.... try a reassemble first. Good luck!

Ive attempted a small reassemble. I re did all the flex cable connections, I think the speaker isnt working because the cable is stuck down slightly off from where it is supposed to be and its not making the connection with the pins it needs to make. Still havent figured out the buttons, gonna try a hard reset first, and if that goes bad ill do a full reassemble when i get back home.

Ok so I've purchased the same part (the whole lcd assembly) from a seperate dealer and the part was new, and I'm still having these 2 problems. The back/menu buttons do not work and neither does the speaker. Any ideas what could be wrong? Maybe the piece that the menu/back buttons connect to? The same piece that has the gold pins that power the speaker?

Well I found that particular cable piece for 12 bucks so im gonna give it a shot seeing as how I know the only problem that the buttons could be would be the connection for the back/menu button flex cable. After trying it with 2 new lcds both being new I HIGHLY doubt that is the problem. Could also explain why the speaker doesnt work anymore since their both on the same cable? Maybe? Thats about the only thing I can think of to cause both of those problems.
