    Sending emails by 3/4g problem

    Hello all

I seem not to be able to send emails when not connected to wifi - is this normal? my outgoing settings are fine but sending always fails until I return home and connect to wifi.

    Any input appreciated

Are you sure mobile data and sync are enabled?

    Question?

Is your outbound mail (SMTP) set for the same provider as your Internet? Without inputting additional information =, like a different port # or full mail address or possibly something else you would only be able to send if connected to their system.

It might help to know the domain for your m,ail, (not your E-Mail address, what's after the @).

    Thanks leeshor
I think it's sorted, I played around with various ports and user name/password configurations and managed to send a test mail on 3g.

It's weird as I have never used a password on outgoing mail settings before.
It's my son's domain and he has strong firewall settings.

A password on outgoing mail is fairly common for many of my customers when they are out of the office and off their Internet provider's service. I use something called SMTPAUTH so I can get on any Internet service and send. Receiving is not generally a problem.

    Glad you sorted it out.
