    Unwanted Popup Ads

Hi. I began having trouble with my (Verizon) Samsung Galaxy s4 a couple of months ago after I started playing Lumosity games and Smash Hit, and also when viewing Google news stories. Full screen popup ads started and they will not let me close them out, stop them from playing, and even using the Home button to go to open apps to close them out won't work. The ads run 10-15 seconds and so far it's only one ad when it happens, but it takes my focus away from the games resulting in lower scores. Lumosity and Smash Hit developers have said they do not have ads in their game apps. Verizon was not able to help so I'm thinking it's something to do with Samsung.

All of my software and game apps are up to date. Can anyone help? These ads are driving me crazy! Thanks.

Chances are very good that a free app you installed is causing that. You may need to backtrack to uninstall the apps you had installed just prior to that happening. You can also try using an app called AirPush Detector to see if it can determine what app is causing it.

Current versions of Android don't support Flash player, try Puffin or Flashfox as an alternative browser.

Thank you! I'm sorry I posted in the wrong area. My mistake. I don't install apps often so I don't recall which ones I did. I will try your suggestion about AirPush Detector.
