What is this Icon at top of screen

I have searched everywhere trying to find out what the second icon means. In case the picture doesn't show up, its diamond shape with curved line coming off of it. Can anyone tell me. Thanks2013-05-26_12.11.45_resized.jpg

That is the gps chip icon. It will always be there but the curved lines mean you have location based services active. Ie gps on, network location on or Google location on.

anytime! I am glad I could help. Now the only way I know to get rid of it is to root your device and get a custom ROM. I am unsure if I will bother doing that to mine since the device runs awesome.

If you turn off "smart stay" in your notification toggles it will go away.

Actually, I think that this icon indicates a WiFi network based location. I don't use WiFi Location and I've never seen this icon.

Oddly enough, that icon is not mentioned in the manual. The GPS one is and it does not look like that one.

Nope, it's a "location service" icon regardless of type (gps, network based, or wifi). If the "waves" coming off the side are lit up, you've got a location service of some kind activated.

I only use GPS location and not WiFi location and I've NEVER seen that icon. So it's NOT just "location service".
The only icon that I see is the "GPS active" icon.

the icon indicates that the gov't is watching. and the signals appear when you're within range of the drones.

i've never actually seen that icon. are you in the states? who's your carrier?
