Different sound for text and email?

Hey there, just bought my S4 yesterday, learning everything. Quite the upgrade from my Blackberry haha. First question is:

How do you create a different sound for incoming texts and emails? As far as I can tell there is only one notification for both email and texts. I'd like a different one for both, each have different levels of importance.

    Much thanks!

if you go into the home screen of the messaging app you can hit the menu soft key (bottom left) and click settings. under settings, you can put a check next to notifications and select the ringtone (make sure your phone volume is on or the option will be greyed out.) for gmail, i do the same thing. menu softkey, settings, click my email account (not general settings), put a check mark next to notifications and long press the word notifications fo the option to change my email notification ringtone.

Thanks! I think that should do it. So much to learn. Mind if I ask you another question?

How do you make it so if you delete an email from your phone it stays on your account? Like I get an email from someone I don't feel like keeping on my phone but I can log into yahoo mail later and read it.

i dont have a yahoo account but if the option isnt in the yahoo email app from the play store i would assume you can find the setting when you log into your yahoo account from your computer. i prefer the default setting b/c i'd prefer not having to deleting things twice.

You know what, I just realized it is already set on that. I just deleted a few emails on my phone from two weeks ago and they are still in my yahoo inbox.

I hear ya Beer Goggles. I just figured I had someone, "on the line," if you will haha.

Thanks for the help macuser. I am not the most technologically gifted person in the world. This S4 is fancy!

    Have a good day fellows.

to make your phone even fancier, you can add custom sounds too (see below). i liked the alarm sound from my iphone so i found the .caf file on my computer and added it to my sd card.

Favorite custom ringer, alarm, and notification sounds

Message notification sounds - adding more
