    Video help

I tried doing a search but nothing came up that helped.

Anytime I take a video it won't let me send it saying the file is too big so when I try and change my settings to an MMS style it ends up being so blurry and awful. I came from an iPhone and to send a video to anyone it came out crystal clear so I don't know if I am doing something wrong or if I need to change a setting somewhere.

If I missed something in my search please guide me to a thread. I just feel so lost!

I'm going to move this to the S4 Video section as it may get more views but you could list what the settings are that got so blurry.

I went from normal to Limit to MMS. Which I get that it compresses but wow what awful quality. I'm used to my iphone just doing its thing and sending my videos not a problem. I've seen solutions ranging from using drop box to emailing. Gmail won't even let me attach it through my phone. I send short 30 second or less clips to family of my kids. I took a 14 sec video and can do nothing with it. I am also using the stock messaging app but have tried go sms pro and handscent as well. Neither worked.

The only other setting I could find was to go to Camera > Menu > Settings then change to video mode, select video size. I get 4 options there...1920 x 1080 (default) and 3 smaller settings. Try each one, take a short video and see what the quality is. I haven't used my phone for taking a video yet, but I did have to adjust my web cam this way before uploading a video to YouTube, just to keep the file size manageable. If you've already tried this, apologies! I have AT&T btw, so I am not sure if this setting is carrier-specific.

I'm with @Canyonhiker on that suggestion, and the size of the items, videos or photos do have some limits from carrier to carrier. I would experiment with the manual changes until you find one that works.

At the smallest setting possible, a 25 second video is too large. I used to send 1 min videos.

Are you on the same carrier?

Do you know what size the videos were that worked and the size they are now?

use dropbox. it is very easy to share any file. just upload it to dropbox and then share the link to that file via sms, email, anything

I believe the limit for mms setting on the S4 gives you two minutes of video. If the iPhone only let you send one minute it would have higher quality video. In the end the carriers typically only let you send around 600kb of data in an mms, so to send two minutes of video in that allowed limit comes at the cost of quality. When I want to send an important video I always record at 720p (the diff. Is negligible compared to 1080p)and upload to Dropbox. That's just me though...
