Android 4.3 for AT&T's Samsung Galaxy S4 Put On Hold

We have some reversal news which might bring sadness to Samsung Galaxy S4 owners on AT&T. Just last week we reported that the Android 4.3 update was pushing out to these devices, and that was true as some folks already got the update. However, it turns out there have been some issues crop up and they have had to put the update on hold.

There's no official word confirming what the issues are, nor how long the update will be put on hold. From doing some digging it seems like the issues might be related to Wi-Fi and/or cellular data connection issues. Additionally, there are reports of some other random bugs and glitches. Interestingly, this isn't the first time the Android 4.3 update was put on hold for a Samsung device. It just happened on Friday to the Korean and UK versions of the Samsung Galaxy S3. Of course we will keep you updated when the update starts rolling out again.

In the mean-time, if you have already received the initial rollout before it was put on hold, sound off in the thread and let us know if you are experiencing any unusual issues with this Android 4.3 update.

That's exactly why I put off getting the update. Better right than sorry.

I prefer seeing what problems others have first.

Current versions of Android don't support Flash player, try Puffin or Flashfox as an alternative browser.

Several of our members who received the update through Verizon have reported problems with WiFi, although I haven't experienced any!

i don't think it's the os at fault. i think it is all the crap apps and "features" the carriers are adding to the stock android image. my unlocked s4 has had no issues at all after the 4.3 update

I'm with Ken. Updated to 4.3 AT&T and no problems (other than one that I think is a Fancy Widgets issue, that thing needs updates..... their last update from January 2012).

    Certainly no connectivity issues.

Connectivity issues here. Late push messages and restarting to obtain a data connection over LTE. No wifi issues though. The phone definitely feels snappier, and this is coming from someone who has tried many different roms and kernels. I had the Knox warning once. Updated the security policy and haven't had it since. Over all it's a good update, aside from the data issues.

    My S4's

We have two Galaxy S4's on Verizon and they both updated to 4.3. We have not experienced any serious problems with one exception. A major problem occurred when I decided to turn on Talkback to see what it does. NOT a good idea. The phone went crazy and essentially locked up. Had to do a factory reset to get the phone to work again. I am keeping my hands off that setting. For ref it is in Settings/My devices/Accessibility//Services/Talkback
