    iphone imessage/text issues

    Sorry if this has been posted already, but I couldn't find an answer.

    So I just switched from the iphone but most everyone else I know still has one. The issue they're having is that when they text me it still wants to go through as an imessage.... it then tries to send as a text but I only get about half of the texts sent to me.

    I've tried a lot of remedies I've found, but they only seem to work for a few minutes. Does anyone else have or had this issue? Has anyone found a permanent fix for this?

    you can turn imessaging off if you still have your iphone and you can change your itunes password if you dont have your iphone.

    Traded the iPhone in, I had an older one though that I factory wiped and restored backup from the cloud so I could transfer it all to my new g4. It doesn't have a sim card. I've changed my password already and it only worked for about a day, I'll try turning imessages off n see if that works.

    I have the same issue - and tried resetting my apple ID password but it hasn't worked. I don't have my iPhone still either. Is there anyway to remotely turn off iMessaging? My phone number wasn't even listed under my apple account - it was a different phone number that I used to have (never with an iPhone).

    if you registered your iphone w apple, you can try unregistering it here - https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do

    if that doesnt work/ your phone isnt listed at the bottom once you log in, you can try remote wiping you phone from icloud.com.

    changing your apple id password should have remotely turn off imessaging.
