Hmmm ... I still have it in my app drawer, too. I've been hearing a lot of people saying that they lost the icon and don't know how to get into Nav.

Some have been on AT&T, others have been on Verizon.

To start Navigation from within Google Maps, tap the "fork in the road" icon on the right side of the top bar.

I'm on AT&T and this didn't happen to me.

I still think that it's cockpit problems (i.e., operator error).

I just got the galaxy s4 through at&t. I had the navigation app, with the blue arrow, when I first got it. Now it is not there... Disappeared! Now I go to Google maps and start the navigation, and the navigation is not the same as it used to be.
Does anyone know why this is? How can I get the blue arrow app back?

I don't know that there is any way to create the Navigation shortcut to the navigation part of Google Maps.

There is a 3rd party app that launches Google Maps Navigation. Haven't tried it, though.

This won't return the old form of Google Navigation, though. The new one is fine, in my opinion, just different.

I also have both I can access Navigation from within Maps, and I still have the navigation Blue arrow shortcut It may matter But my service is AT&T
I had been experimenting with the maps/navigation on my old Atrix 4G, that phone would not automatically dim the screen light so wasn't handy for night time. At the lowest brightness it was still to bright for night driving. I still have my Nuvi. I think it would be great if we really could use our phone for navigation but I'm not giving up my Nuvi yet, In fact I just bought a new yesterday. The refurb I bought back in 2007 was having problems finding the GPS satellites. So if this one last as long I'm good for the next 5 to 7 years. I'm betting by then our phones will actually work as well as Garmin for Navigation

It's because since you got the phone and now the Maps App updated. The 'enter nav mode' icon is now at the top right of Maps, the 'fork in the road' icon. It defaults the start point to where you are, so just add destination and go. I see it as a plus, one less icon in the Apps Drawer pointing to the same app as the Maps icon in there.

Me too, a 1450T, my primary nav device. I like the simplicity, a one trick pony, and it does great at it's job. My Nuvi usually lives in the car console (out of sight), so the phone is nice to look things up quickly, or for research when not driving. The phone just a backup to me.
