    issues with music pausing

So picked up my new galaxy yesterday and started playing right away. Took it to the gym and playing Pandora as normal and it keeps pausing randomly. I then went home and installed music into my sd card. Does the same thing. Pauses halfway through a song. Is this a glitch, a task manager somewhere killing it after a certain amount of time or anything else?

    Thanks guys

    Welcome aboard, glad you joined.

There are several new features in the S4 that "may" be causing the problem. In order to eliminate the player itself try installing JetAudio as your player. If it does the same things we can look at possible reasons for an activity time-out, there are a few.

You may also want to check this thread, S4 stops playing music / videos everytime I lean forward - how do I stop it? where there was a similar issue.

Current versions of Android don't support Flash player, try Puffin or Flashfox as an alternative browser.

I have the same issue with my phone. Motions and gestures are disabled.

I had an iPhone before the S4 and never had an issue with music pausing. It really is becoming quite frustrating. As I ride a bike, I get set with my music before I ride off. I have to stop just to get my phone out to hit play. It's becoming very annoying.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

I did. I have look at all suggestions and have tried them, but to no luck.

I only purchased a SG4 for the bigger screen and the ability to put music on the phone without having to go through iTunes. I have disabled as many of the features such as gestures, and motions as I could find. All of the silly gimmicky features designed to sell the phone are turned off. This is also in the hope to achieve longer battery life.

I found on another forum they mentioned widgets on the home screen can cause this problem. I'm trying this now. Hopefully that is the fix.

@DAW For reference, I have some apps disabled but none of the basic services, some you may call gimmicks. When you "really" disable many of those there is a standard waring that some other functions may be affected. Yes active widgets can use battery but probably isn't going to affect your music. (I said it the way I did because disabling an app is different from unchecking a box)

With your tinkering you may in fact have disabled a service that is needed. I regularly get 24-26 hours of use just by not allowing most of the apps to act on their own. Only when I desire, which simply disables most syncing except on demand.
