Once you have the widget on your screen you can long press on it to reposition it or change the size of the widget.

Hi, grant, I can't resize the Accuweather widget on my home screen, it always looks like this:

Tap and hold the widget, move it down from the top of the screen, let go. Tap and hold again, a frame appears around the widget resize and move back. Or use one the "holo" accuweather widgets instead of the clock widget
    Rooted 4.4.2 stock

Try changing your weather provider (which I see you did) to Accuweather or Weatherbug, these are both just as accurate and usually more detailed. Your other option is to use a different sized widget and simply resize it manually. Your third option is to use a different time/weather app altogether. Just like the majority of stock apps on your S4, there are MUCH better third party apps available than using the stock app/widget. You should have no problem finding a better alternative to work in is place.
Hopefully you can find one that will work for you.
    Good luck.
    I agree.
I didn't have a problem with the stock weather App, but downloaded .. Weather & Clock Widget Android ... from the Play Store and it's awesome.
4 or 5 different size Widgets and everything can be integrated with other Apps on the phone like the clock, calendar, Alarms etc. so when you tap them from the home screen on the Weather App it brings them up.
    Can't hurt to try it.
OP good luck whatever you do

Sorry, Spikes, still couldn't resize the widget from Accu. Tried the "holo" widget but not to my liking...but I really appreciate your input and advice. Thanks.

    You're Welcome
I tried a few others but once I used the Weather & Clock Widget Android App my search was over.
Best by far and have not had any problems with it since installing it .
