I have a few on my various Android devices. Personally I like what Lookout does. AVG is also decent.

I guess my question is why is there a need for av on an Android? I didn't think they really needed them. I'm shopping around for one but wanted to get a few recommendations.

Recent reports state that Android has become a primary target for viruses and malware.

Here's my take. Lookout has warned me about installs even from the Google Store, not necessarily because they were a virus, (virus is an overused word any more), but because of other possible ad or privacy issues. I appreciated and heeded the warnings. Better to have some protection than none.

I warned myself about some privacy issues for apps in the Google Play Store. I rarely trust any app that wants to "Read Sensitive Log Data".

Lookout for me, I tried Norton but it just didn't seem to get on smart phones. I might take another look sometime but Lookout seems to get the job done.
